Might make me reconsider myself

Now if Obama is the Democrat nominee, all [bets] are off.

Oh come on.

Rev. Wright is so yesterday. Don’t hate the playa, hate the game.

Look, how about this: You vote for me over McCain, and I’ll get my wife to keep her mouth shut for 3 days.

3 days man!

Now I know what you are saying to yourself. You’re saying “Self, 3 days is a long time for such an opinionated and downright unpleasant woman to maintain her silence. Does Obama really have what it takes to keep this promise?”

Well that would be a typical response Drew, and I can no more disown your response than I could disown my pastor or my racist cracker of a gramma. But what I can do, Drew, is give you the audacity of hope for a quieter tomorrow.

So vote for me, and I’ll shut my wife up for 3 whole days. I promise!

3 days Drew. Come on, playa… You deserve it!

BH Obama

We all deserve it.

Watching out for your friends

We may now understand why Barack does not wear a flag lapel pin. He’s afraid that Bill Ayers will stomp on him.

Scary

Preferring to be grass instead of an elephant

“A writer whines:http://www.motherjones.com/commentary/tomdispatch/2008/05/the-air-force-above-all.html in Mother Jones about the USAF seeking to dominate any future conflict (or, by dominating, prevent conflict). He cites the theme from Spiderman, “with great power comes great responsibility”. The gist of the article is elegantly summed up by this quote —

It’s very simple: “with great power comes great responsibility…” And he doesn’t want the responsibility, so he tries to get rid of the power.

Isn’t that the plot of Spiderman 2?

Brandon

And Superman 2 as well, but apparently the lessons of those movies didn’t penetrate.

Time to end the occupation

Fifty-four shootings in two weekends. Shot-up bodies recovered in groups of three and five. Is this Ramadi? Basra? No.

Welcome to Chicago.

[…]

After a recent outbreak of gun-related violence, Mayor Richard Daley is now pushed into supporting a plan by new Police Superintendent Jody Weis to arm 13,000 Chicago police officers with assault rifles. Depending on how many weapons are eventually deployed, this may develop into the largest militarization of police patrol officers in United States history. If the department arms 10,000 of their officers with M4s, the police will have 9,900 more assault rifles in Chicago than the U.S. Marines presently have in Fallujah, Iraq.

Quagmire! End the occupation! Support the insurgents!

I think we should have downstate Illinois unite with downstate Indiana, and put all of Chicago (including Gary) in a new state.

If we're not secure, what hope do you have?

Via Wired

A new SQL injection attack aimed at Microsoft IIS web servers has hit some 500,000 websites, including the United Nations, UK Government sites and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. […] However, the vulnerability is the result of poor data handling by the sites’ creators, rather than a specific Microsoft flaw.

In other words, there’s no patch that’s going to fix the issue, the problem is with the developers who failed follow well-established security practices for handling database input.

Woo, don’t I feel secure now! The Department of Homeland Security can’t even manage to prevent basic network based attacks on their public websites.
