Don't blame the label

[source, source]

Israeli intelligence officials have complained to Britain and the United States that sensitive night-vision equipment recovered from Hezbollah fighters during the war in Lebanon had been exported by Britain to Iran. British officials said the equipment had been intended for use in a U.N. anti-narcotics campaign.

It’s not a UN problem, it’s a British one. I mean seriously, who except the delusional would expect this to have ended any different? Even if one were silly enough to expect the UN to care about what happened to the equipment, how could they have done anything? Britian knew the equipment was going to Iran, end of discussion.
