Sure it’s repulsive (and terribly unjust to the reporter whose work is corrupted by the phantom, ejaculating editor) but really does the incident reveal anything about the practice of journalism that we didn’t already know from reading Waugh’s “Scoop”?

It’s nice to have confirmation that it’s still prevalent. The most telling bit was that the reporter didn’t see anything particularly noteworthy about it.
